Several weeks ago, I went to Sephora looking for a darker foundation. I wasn't looking for any particular brand but something that was light weight.
A Sephora employee helped me by applying several different foundations that just didn't work for my skin tone. The majority of the foundations were cool tones and looked very ashy on me.
The last foundation she applied was the Tarte Rainforest by The Sea Water Foundation. I chose the shade "Deep Sand" because it had warm yellow undertones which perfectly matched my skin.
It claims to "Deliver the ultimate in hydration-boosting coverage 12-hour water foundation. The concentrated, full-coverage fluid formula features 20 percent water to quench dry skin as it covers and masks any redness, dark spots, and uneven skin tone while softening the look of pores and fine lines. The custom dropper applicator delivers the perfect level of moisture-rich coverage in an array of shades to match any skin tone." *1fl.oz of the foundation cost $40, so you know I had high expectations!
When I first applied the foundation it looked flawless. It had a lightweight feel to it, almost like there was nothing on my face! After wearing the foundation for almost 8 hours, I can honestly say it held up pretty good. I noticed a lot of creasing around my mouth and chin area, but that always happens after a long day of wearing makeup.
For this foundation, I would recommend that you not layer a lot of concealers and powders. Adding layers of products may leave you with a cakey face.
Over all, I would give this foundation an 8 out of 10.
