Finding Your Key To Happiness In 2019: Self Love Affirmations

January 1, 2019

Hello readers and happy new year!

In 2018 I've traveled, experienced new things, made mistakes, and learned allot from myself. I'm still figuring out where I fit in this universe but truly understanding who I truly am. In my opinion, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to be the BEST version of YOURSELF (yes you!) and taking that time out of your day to rediscover that. I'm declaring 2019 THE YEAR OF HAPPINESS & SELF GROWTH.

Last year I read, "I Wish I Had A Red Dress" by Pear Cleage. WHICH WAS AMAZING! That book really motivated me to read more books. In August, I went into a book store looking for a "inspiration/life enhancement/positivity "type of books. Finally, I came across a book called You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero.  (Which I haven't finished yet but It's damn good so far)

This book has changed my life, not in the physical scene but spiritually, mentally and emotionally. Midway through this book, I felt a switch. A subconscious switch that has unexceptionally altered my way of thinking. For example, everyday things like wanting to loose weight yet I continue to eat the fourth slice of pizza or denying opportunities because I'm always brain storming small disasters in my head that could happen but don't. I call it, SELF DOUBT and SELF SABOTAGE. Don't be shocked, as humans we ALL do it but it's important to call yourself out on it when that happens.

Something that really motivates me everyday is always believing in my affirmations. What are affirmations you say? According to google..

af·firm·a·tion

/ˌafərˈmāSH(ə)n/

noun

plural noun: affirmations

  1. the action or process of affirming something or being affirmed.

    "he nodded in affirmation"

synonyms:declaration, statement, assertion, proclamation, pronouncement, attestation; More

  2. emotional support or encouragement.
"the lack of one or both parents' affirmation leaves some children emotionally crippled

Chapter 6 in this book is called Loving The One You Is  (sounds genius right lol) and it says one of many important step into self love is having POSITIVE, MOTIVATIONAL, SELF LOVE affirmations. This will help move you towards a life you want live and the person you want be. I've created my own affirmations that I say to myself when I wake up and before going to sleep, I've listed a few below.

My Affirmations

  1.  I believe in myself and in my abilities.

  2.  I can handle anything that comes my way.

  3.  Unlimited energy will find me today.

  4.  I'm grateful for another day to shine.

  5. I accept myself unconditionally.

I challenge you to create 5 or more of your own positive affirmations. Say them to yourself in the mirror but don't just say it, believe in it. Affirmations will only work due to the power of positive thinking.

Also, challenge yourself this year. Take a risk, open your mind to new ideas, live your best life, and don't be afraid to be the person you dream of being.

I hope reading this has helped you in some way. Hopefully opened your mind to seeing the universe and your life in a different way.
