April 2, 2020

Where do I begin!

Life has been a rollercoaster with everything going on in the world and in my life. Just being able to sit down to get back to blogging feels like a relief. I'm currently trying to balance my work life, staying connected with my friends and family and at  the same time trying to be safe and healthy. For many people, anxiety is a everyday struggle. However, there many things you can do remain positive and stay motivated.

Here are a few things I do to stay focused, relaxed, and uplifted.

1. A Good Read!

Reading a good book is a perfect way to disconnect from any negative thoughts and for some harsh realities. There are tons of self- development books on starting your own business, managing your money, and anxiety/ depression. I personally love reading black fictional novels and self-development books. Choose a book that fits your interest .... hey if you're the artistic kind, purchase a relaxing adult coloring books which is a good alternative for rather being glued to your phone.

Listed are some of my favorite go-to reads!

1. You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life By Jen Sincero

2. I Wish I Had a Red Dress by Pearl Cleage

3. You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth By Jen Sincero

BOOKS ON MY WISHLIST

1.The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good By Mark Manson

2. Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear By Elizabeth Gilbert

3. Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals by Rachel Hollis

2. Sweat It Out

It's time to cut back on the quarantine snacks and focus on our bodies! We all have to remain active throughout the day and eat healthier to build a strong immune system, which is most important  the ever before. There's tons of workout videos on Youtube that'll get you up and moving.

Here's a few of my favorite Youtube Fitness Guru's

1. Blogilates

2. Emi Wong

3. Yoga With Adriene

4. POPSUGAR Fitness

3. Goal Setting & Planner

When you wake up in the morning jot down goals to set for the day/ week. Whether it be personal, finance or fitness related it's important to write down future goals this will also help you stay organized and develop a daily routine.

4. Give Someone you love a call

During this time of uncertainty and anxiety, it's important to check in on the ones you love. Many lives have been affected not only by health but financially. This can put you on a emotional rollercoaster. Talking through issues and being supportive to a friend might change someones outlook on life.

 5. Get Creative ( Create Content)

Cook, Dance, Workout, Draw, Post a Uplifting Verse on Social Media

  • Don't be afraid to show off your talents and skills. Someone out there many need it and you might be able to help them.

Journal or Blog

  • Don't bottle it all in. Whatever is on your mind LET IT OUT AND WRITE IT DOWN. Personally, I have been journalling since I was 14 and I have always felt the need to express my thoughts and feelings through writing. This has led me to writing a number of fictional short story's that'll have you crying laughing. FREE YOUR THOUGHTS.

 6. Clean (You know why)

Clorox & Lysol should be your best friend right about now. I am constantly spraying down every hard surface in the house and washing my now prune like hands every 20 minutes. When your sanitizing your environment your not only caring for yourself but others around you as well.

7. Rearrange your furniture

When you realign your environment your mind follows. Change is good!

Thank you for reading,
